Praise the Lord,

My Name is Mary Moye, I am the daughter-in-law of Bishop George E. Moye. He was more than just a father-in-law, he was more like the father I never had. I was at his side when he left earth bound for his home in Heaven. He was always the same sweet spirit person I had known every since meeting him. I loved him.

THE FATHER I NEVER HAD

Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop but a good word maketh it glad. From the time that I married his youngest son, that's the kind of father-in-law that I had.

----- His words were always sweet, his smile sincere,

------His voice always loving, his motives, oh so dear.

We shared many things, in his latter life he said "In this family, we don't want any strife." When others would have been concerned about their body that was racked with pain, he wanted to make sure others were well and whether his grandchildren were happy. He'd ask have you heard from Barbara's, Curtis', Bell's and Eddie's kids, how is little Willie Monica and Dwayne.

He told me of some very personal, hurting things that came into his life, but not once was he shifting blame or accusing anyone else. He said these things made him pray harder and prayer made his life rich and ripe.

He called me his daughter and I called him my dad. There is no father better that I could have had.

We sang together, prayed together , laughed together and cried.

We even quoted scripture together up until the moment he died.

With God and man, he made his peace of any wrong he might have done.

I believe God said to him, "Welcome servant" come on home, the victory, son, you have won.
